President Donald Trump announced April 6, 2017 that he ordered a missile strike on Syria in retaliation for the recent chemical bombing, according to a CNN article.
Many believe the Syrian president is to blame for the situation, though he and Syrian ally Russia have said this is not true. Some people said Trumo made a good decision, but suggested he be careful to not start an open war with Syria. For those who support Trump, it feels like he took matters into his own hands and made a quick decision. Critics have said it was a rash move, with some referencing a tweet Trump made when Barack Obama was in office, urging the former president to not get mixed up with Syria. Good or bad, the world is in a delicate place at the moment. Along with internal struggles in America, quick decisions that affect other countries, especially a powerhouse like Russia, could have horrible consequences. America and Russia of course have a history with the Cold War, and if things don't go properly we could return to a situation like this or end up in another actual war. At the same time, with Congress aware of what happened, Trump may have to interact more with other facets of government before making more decisions like this.
