Danny tries to pick up the pieces of the shattered parley, and Davos decides to move ahead with his plan. Things kick off with the results of a fight: Danny is lying injured on the ground with Mary standing above him. She crushes his phone, which was connected to Colleen, and starts dragging him away as we cut back to earlier in the day. Danny and Colleen discuss the failed parley, noting that if Danny really saw something outside, it was likely not a Hatchet or Tiger. He shuts down the idea that it was Mary and begins blaming himself, so Colleen points out that Danny is out there keeping people alive, which no one else is doing. Danny says he's unsure if he'll be able to contain things if they get worse, and though Colleen suggests the Hatchets and Tigers might still be willing to bargain, he points out that Mrs. Yang probably won't listen to them again. Danny laments that they can't have a normal life and do things like try to find Choi, but Colleen assures him that her past will still be there later, and for now they will focus on the gang problem together. Convinced, Danny agrees to try diplomacy again, and we head to Joy and Davos, irritated and frustrated due to Walker telling them nothing. She refuses to tell them how Danny got the photos, telling Davos he'll lose his hand if he attacks. Joy claims Walker won't get any money until they know what's going on, admitting she needs them to have faith that she's honest. Walker explains she knows everything about Danny, including his fist, and Joy tells Davos to go when he says he needs to take care of matters with the bowl and the "Crane Sisters." We head over to Ward, who spent the night with Bethany, as she suggests he go against his first instinct and just try being charitable and kind toward Joy. Pointing out how close they're getting, Bethany reveals she's going to resign from being his sponsor and talk to Carlos, the man Ward directly insulted before, about taking over. Danny and Colleen head to the Yang house, where some grunts get in Danny's face, not wanting to let him in. Mrs. Yang has them stand down and explains the Danny and Colleen that there is no more chance for negotiation because the Tigers have taken the docks. She declares they can't just let this stand and, as she knows their triad groups have waged war for years, that's what she'll decide in her husband's absence. Pushed, she reveals he suffered a stroke, and when Danny says it can't be a coincidence, they have him leave. The two discuss how men deal with failures as well as how they should handle the situation, and Danny stumbles upon the unconscious Yang. While Colleen urges Mrs. Yang to rethink her next move, Danny notices a bruise on Mr. Yang's collarbone just before the man wakes up. Yang communicates using blinks that Davos did this, and manages to say "Hancock 212" before his heart monitor goes crazy, causing Mrs. Yang to arrive and she tell her men to get Danny and Colleen out. Outside, Danny reveals to Colleen that Davos used a difficult technique, the "Devil's Claw," and as they talk about how he could be involved they suddenly hear Misty Knight calling to them. She drives them back to their apartment, where she reveals a close police friend of hers has been undercover in the Tigers for years, and she saw him in the hospital that day saying an attempted bust the night before was ruined when a man with a glowing fist showed up. Misty asks them to back up and Danny says it's just getting too complicated, telling her about Davos and how they believe he gave Yang a stroke. Danny gives her Yang's message and she says it could be a ship or unit from the company Hancock Transport, causing them to realize he must have had a deal with Yang to ship something in. Danny tries to leave but Misty says that while she appreciated his help, she needs him off the case, only to for some reason agree to let him go outside for some space, of course leading to him running off. Back at Walker's apartment, Joy irritates her by going through her stuff, including a bunch of books about the brain, eventually finding a discharge notice revealing Walker is a veteran and confirming she has dissociative identity disorder. Misty, meanwhile, brings up Colleen's sword, and the latter explains she leaves it on the wall because she doesn't intend on using it anymore. Though Misty is skeptical, she takes a look at the photos, pointing out that Colleen seems right in the middle of things anyway, despite her pointing out she's been getting normal work elsewhere. She points out that making a decision like this only works if you stick to it, but Colleen explains she can't just let bad things happen in her neighborhood. We cut back to Joy, who gets attacked when she says Walker should have told them, but the latter lets her go after a rant about her condition when she actually calls the Mary personality "her." Joy apologizes and realizes how Danny could meet her and get the pictures without actually meeting her. Finally understanding what's going on, she takes Walker at her word that she can get the job done that day. Davos finally manages to meet part of his goal, sneaking into the docks while killing Tiger guards to get to his shipping container, which has a past Iron Fist's corpse inside. He takes the man's mask and carves the dragon symbol off his chest, then leaves before Danny can get there. Misty and Colleen arrive soon after Danny, and Misty chides him for taking off. Pointing out that it's an active crime scene, she says he can't just walk out, but he tries anyway, angering her when he says to get out of the way if she won't help. Colleen intervenes, saying he needs to calm down but pointing out he may have a point, as if he had been there sooner and Davos really was there, he could have done something. The episode comes to a close with Misty investigating and Colleen makes a choice about the situation, Ward taking Bethany's advice about extending an olive branch to Joy, and Walker making moves that help Davos finalize his plans. Honestly I was a bit confused for a time with this episode, as the intro made me think Walker attacking Danny was taking place before the events of the episode.
Obviously as soon as I saw her later attack I knew it wasn't, but Colleen wondering if it was Mary outside the parley sounded to me like they were discussing what we saw at the start of the episode. I'd honestly just chalk this up to me simply having a dumb moment, though, because I guess I just didn't pay enough attention at the start to understand they were discussing the parley. Mrs. Yang had a pretty reasonable reaction after the previous episode's events, honestly, since taking Danny's advice seemingly led to her almost losing her life and she lost the docks. At the same time, however, he was pretty justified in assuming something was up when he saw armed people outside the Tigers' building. I was somewhat confused again, however, with how Danny handled finding and communicating with Mr. Yang. It was definitely smart of them to communicate through Yang blinking, but I didn't understand why Danny didn't try using his power on the man. We've seen since season one that Danny isn't exactly the best Iron Fist, as he had trouble even using the fist in combat and could only do it once. At one point in season one he learned that he could channel his chi through the fist to heal people, so even if he isn't the best, I assumed he'd remember that. For me, a lot of entertainment came in the following scene as Joy and Davos tried to understand what was happening with Walker. Under the assumption that other viewers figured out her obvious DID secret, we can understand what she's talking about with the seeming riddles she's speaking. The characters don't, however, and seeing Davos rub his temples in frustration as he tries to comprehend what she's saying is incredibly entertaining to watch. His serious nature just make it funnier as he grows exasperated with Walker's confusing words. Not much happens with Ward in this episode, though I like that Bethany made an ethical choice since she likes him and he was willing to give her suggestion a try. It was cool to see Misty show up, though it's frustrating that now like Luke, Danny is having to deal with cops telling him to back off from what he's doing. Of course, that isn't to say Misty's not int he right for doing so, considering Danny ruined a police bust and put one officer in the hospital. Considering how confusing things were for Joy and Davos, I can't imagine how much Danny and Colleen's heads are spinnin. With Walker having finally attacked him, however, and Davos getting the things he needed, somet hings will definitely be cleared up when is plan unfolds.
